Overview

RFQ GSM052/2026 seeks the provision of economy class fleece blankets for a three-year period to South African Airways. Suitable bidders are suppliers with blanket manufacturing or supply experience, ISO/SABS quality certifications, an MSDS, and the capacity to deliver 90,000 units over 3 years to SAA on Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) terms to the Johannesburg warehouse, with appropriate packaging, labelling, and branding requirements.

Requirements

• Administrative: 100% compliance with returnable documents, signed by authorized representative, valid tax clearance, and acceptance of SAA General Conditions.
• Mandatory returnable documents (Phase 1):
  • Letter confirming DDP delivery within 21–40 working days (from award/PO).
  • Valid Manufacturing Quality Assurance certificate (ISO 9001 or SABS).
  • Valid Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
• Phase 2 (Functionality, minimum 70%): evidence of two or more similar blanket projects; three client reference letters; material composition document.
• Product/Technical: fleece blanket specs (130 x 180 cm; 150–200 g/m2; anti-static/pilling; SAA branding; washability ≥10 cycles); colour options (dark brown or royal blue); SAA logo placement as per sample; packaging and pallet requirements (40 units per box; 90,000 units total; 1.2 m x 1.0 m pallets; case labeling).
• Due diligence: product samples for shortlisted bidders; possible site visits to warehouse facilities.
