Overview

RFQ for mast pole stenciling in the Gauteng region (railway infrastructure asset marking). This opportunity targets contractors with railway painting/marking experience and relevant safety qualifications to stencil mast pole numbers per PRASA specifications, with a 3-month contract and a 1350-pole BOQ.

Requirements

• Compliance with technical specs: stencil work per specification CEE0045 (2002/1) and drawing BBC2036; 100 mm stencil; black numbers on white background; numbers on both sides where applicable.
• Depot-provided mast numbers; surface prep and painting details as per above specs.
• Safety and environment: comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, Construction Regulations, and proper disposal of waste/paint residues.
• Staffing and competency: Site Supervisor (3+ years railway experience) and Construction Health and Safety Officer with recognized OHS qualification and SACPCMP registration; minimum two key personnel (including a Flagman and a Safety Officer) with SAQA-qualified railway-related credentials; weekly progress reports.
• Project execution and discipline: adherence to PRASA QA/inspection regime; environmental compliance; weekly reporting; snag/closure reporting on completion.
• Penalties and guarantees: 1-year defect liability; liquidated damages of R5,000 per calendar week up to 10% of contract value for late completion.
• Scoring criteria (70+ points to proceed): Organizational Experience (40), Qualifications/Experience of key personnel (40), Project program (20).
