Overview

This RFQ seeks a qualified Firefighting Equipment Service Provider for the supply, installation and commissioning of fire hose reels at Buildings 2, 4, 24, 25, 26, 31 & 49 at CSIR Scientia Campus Pretoria. Bidders should be experienced contractors in firefighting equipment installation, with SAQCC certification for the technician, CIDB 3SF+, valid public liability cover (min R2.5M), tax/CSD compliance, and three relevant reference projects.

Requirements

• CIDB active status with 3SF or higher (provide CRS/CIDB number).
• SAQCC certification for the installing technician (minimum 3 years’ experience).
• Public liability insurance (min R2,500,000) before award.
• Three (3) verifiable reference letters for firefighting equipment installations (2016–2026).
• Bill of Quantities (Annexure B) submitted with pricing; include notes for deviations.
• Essential returnables: Annexure C (SBD 1), Annexure D (SBD 4), Annexure E (Preference Points), Annexure F (NDA).
• COIDA/Workplace safety standing letter; tax compliance (SARS TCS or CSD registration).
• Not listed on NT restricted tender/defaulter lists; attendance at compulsory briefing (online/onsite).
• Pricing must be in ZAR, including all taxes; clear ROE; full BOQ pricing.

Phase 1 elimination and 80/20 evaluation apply; due diligence on references; CIDB and briefing attendance are mandatory.

• Briefing/site inspection: 27 August 2026, 10:00–12:00, Main Entrance Building 4, CSIR Scientia Campus (compulsory) (RFQ PDF).
