RFQ to appoint a qualified contractor for minor refurbishment at Escombe Station (Old Mainline), KwaZulu-Natal, over a 12-week construction period. Suitable for construction firms with refurbishment experience and the required supplier registrations and certifications (see Requirements). The process awards preference points for specific goals (Black Women Owned, Black Youth Owned, Black Persons with Disabilities) and uses a 80/20 price-specific-goals evaluation.

Requirements

• CIDB grading: 3GB.
• Tax / compliance: submit SARS PIN or Proof of Tax Compliance; if not using SARS PIN, provide CSD number; ensure full tax and regulatory compliance (SARS, CSD, etc.).
• Returnable documents: complete required RFQ forms, including SBD4 (Bidder’s Disclosure) and SBD6.1 (Preference Points Claim Form). Include Form D certificate of compulsory briefing attendance.
• Specific goals: provide evidence for Black Women Owned (10), Black Youth Owned (5), Black Person with Disabilities (5).
• Briefing: compulsory site briefing on 07 July 2026 at Escombe Station (no late entry).
• Compliance: adhere to PRASA General Conditions of Purchase and funding contingency provisions; bid may be cancelled if funding isn’t secured.
• Involvement limitations: ensure not in the state service; where applicable, JV/consortium arrangements must be defined with related documentation.
