Overview

RFQ to appoint a qualified contractor for minor refurbishment at Malvern Station (Old Mainline), KwaZulu-Natal, over a 12-week construction period. Suitable bidders are construction contractors with CIDB 3GB capability, rail refurbishment experience, and who can meet SA tax/compliance requirements (SARS PIN, CSD registration) and PRASA’s general conditions. Specific goals offer preference points for Black Women Owned, Black Youth Owned, and Black Persons with Disabilities.

Requirements

• CIDB grading: 3GB (returnable document requirement).
• Tax/compliance: SARS PIN or Tax Compliance Status; CSD registration number; separate TCS for JV/partners.
• Compliance with PRASA General Conditions of Purchase; authority to sign (proof required).
• Mandatory returnables and briefing attendance: compulsory briefing session attendance and completion of required forms and BOQ items.
• Other: responses to be on official forms; prices in Rand, fixed; adherence to SBDs and pricing schedule; compliance with anti-collusion and public procurement rules.

• Submission method: sealed bid documents deposited at PRASA offices (65 Masabalala Yengw a Avenue, Greyville, 4001) or Durban Station as instructed.
• Documents to submit: official bid response forms (SBD1, SBD4, SBD6.1), pricing schedule, completed BOQ, SARS PIN or TCS/CSD details, JV/consortium docs if applicable, proof of briefing attendance (Form D).
• Registrations/pre-qualifications: CSD registration; Tax Compliance; CIDB 3GB; foreign/SA supplier status as applicable.
• Briefing/site visit: compulsory briefing on 7 July 2026 at Malvern Station (entry closed to latecomers).
