Overview

RFQ for the supply and delivery of signalling cables to recover railway signalling elements on the Congella–Rossburgh corridor for PRASA KZN. Target bidders are cable manufacturers/distributors with railway signalling experience, capable of supplying armoured signalling cables, and meeting PRASA’s tax and supplier registrations (SARS PIN, CSD) and B-BBEE requirements.

Requirements

• Mandatory documents: complete ALL RFP documentation; sign the submission register; where applicable, provide a signed Joint Venture/Consortium/Partnering Agreement.
• Tax & supplier status: valid SARS PIN; Tax Compliance Status (TCS) or CSD number; if consortium, each party must have its own TCS/CSD.
• Compliance exclusions: no bids from persons in the service of the state or with related restrictions.
• Specific goals: B-BBEE Level 2 or 1; 51% Black owned; 51% Black Youth owned; 51% women owned (evidence required; total 20 points).
• Pricing: bid must be on the attached Pricing Schedule; fixed price in Rand; include VAT; price-based scoring (80 points) plus goals (20).
• Delivery: earliest delivery period possible; delivery terms and schedule to be stated in the Pricing Schedule.
• Payment: PRASA pays within 30 days of receipt of a correct tax invoice.

• Deadline: closing date/time is 15 July 2026 at 12:00 (KZN/PRASA/2026/07/02/Q RFQ) (see attached RFQ pdf).
• Submission method: submit in a sealed envelope to Tender Box No.04, PRASA Offices KZN, 65 Masabalala Yengwa Avenue, Greyville, Durban 4001.

• Registrations: CSD registration; SARS PIN; VAT details if applicable.
