Overview

The RFQ seeks to appoint a service provider per LDPT route to provide breakdown roadside assistance (breakdown repairs/recovery) for PRASA’s LDPT fleet of buses and trailers countrywide on an as-and-when-required basis for a period of three years. Bidders should have mobile breakdown capability, certified technicians, and the capacity to service routes across LDPT’s fleet (Mercedes Benz 0500 and MAN HB4 Lion Explorers), with access to compatible parts and towing as needed. Details on routes are in Annexure C (LDPT Routes) and pricing in Annexure D (Breakdown Roadside Assistance - Pricing Schedule) (see RFQ PDFs).

Requirements

• Coverage of LDPT routes 7 days a week, 365 days a year; routes per Annexure C.
• Response time within 1 hour of request; base within 50 km; dispatch capability within 80 km/h.
• Capacity to service at least one breakdown concurrently; alliance allowed but bidder remains responsible; qualified artisan(s) required.
• Team must include a National Automotive Trade Test Certificate holder; breakdown vehicle(s) and standby contact details.
• Repair Job Cards, OEM/spec-compliant repairs, and 6-month workmanship warranty; manufacturer part warranty as applicable; LDPT ownership of removed parts.
• Proximity to main cities; ability to arrange towing via LDPT when needed.
• Compliance: tax (SARS PIN), CSD registration if no TCS; proof of RMI/MIWA where applicable; BBBEE considerations.
• Price and delivery in Annexure D; adherence to PRASA General Conditions of Purchase.
