Overview

The appointment of a service provider to overhaul differentials and gearboxes for PRASA’s rail fleet. Bidders should be maintenance workshops with relevant accreditations, tax/compliance status, and capacity to overhaul diffs and gearboxes (as per the BOQ: DIFF OVERHAUL, REMOVE/OVERHAUL/REFIT GEARBOX for specified units).

Requirements

• Quotation on company letterhead and MIWA/RMIWA accreditation valid at submission.
• Site visit: to confirm capacity and workshop equipment (mandatory for scoring if threshold met; not a formal prerequisite to bid submission) (see attached RFQ document).
• Tax/compliance: SARS PIN, CSD registration number; full tax compliance status; if joint ventures, separate TCS/Pin per party.
• Returnable documents: all mandatory documents completed; failure to provide may disqualify.
• Specific goals for preference points: at least B-BBEE Level 1 or 2; at least 51% black female ownership; evidence required.
• Pricing: fixed in Rand, inclusive of taxes; adherence to the attached Pricing Schedule/BOQ.
• Special/contract conditions: funding contingent; award subject to budget allocation; PRASA general conditions apply.

• Registrations/pre-qualifications: SARS PIN; CSD registration; tax compliance; (if applicable) evidence of B-BBEE status.
• Site briefing/briefing: Site Visit required for capacity verification (Stage 1B); details in RFQ.

BoQ/Scope: DIFF OVERHAUL; REMOVE/OVERHAUL/REFIT GEARBOX for items 1–3; VIN/engine identifiers noted in the scope (as per the attached Section 11). Delivery terms: earliest possible delivery; delivery days to be confirmed by bidder; payment terms: PRASA pays within 30 days of correct tax invoice.
