Overview

RFQ to appoint a service provider to repair and fit Mercedes-Benz bus flex plates at PRASA Pretoria Depot. Suitable bidders are automotive/bus repair specialists with Mercedes-Benz bus experience, capable of flex-plate repair, torque converter work, pilot spigot, rear engine seals, and related labour; must meet SA public procurement and tax/compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Quotation on company letterhead and a valid RMI certificate at submission.
• Tax compliance: submit SARS PIN; provide Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN or, if unavailable, a CSD number (per requirements; separate TCS for each JV/consortium member).
• National Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration required; foreign bidders may be exempt.
• Complete all RFP documentation (including all declarations) and provide evidence for preference points (BBEE level 1 or 2 and 51% black-owned by women).
• Compliance with PRASA General Conditions of Purchase; pricing in Rand, inclusive of taxes; delivery terms to be specified.

• Submission deadline: 25 September 2026 at 23:30 (bids must be received by then).
• Submission method: bids must be emailed to SCMRFQ.MAIL@prasa.com (quotations on letterhead; see attached RFQ) (see document 10374675).
• Documents to submit: company letterhead quotation; Pricing Schedule Annexure (see Pricing_Schedule.xlsx); SARS PIN and TCS/CSD documentation; RMI certificate; completed RFP documentation; BBEE evidence.
• Registrations: self-register on the National Central Supplier Database (CSD) if not already; provide CSD number or TCS PIN as applicable.
• Scope of work reference: attend MERC 0500 bus with transmission; remove/refit transmission; supply 4x new flex plates and 10 bolts; repair torque converter front face; repair pilot spigot; rear engine main seal; labour: recon 1x Merc 0500 prop shaft; (see 10374675.pdf for details). • Delivery: earliest possible delivery; delivery period to be stated by bidder (within days from order).
