REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ) FOR THE AS AND WHEN: GENERAL ELECTRICAL REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE FOR A PERIOD OF 36 MONTHS AT PRASA METRORAIL NGR

Overview

RFQ for as-and-when general electrical repairs and maintenance for a period of 36 months at PRASA MetrotRail NGR. Contractors with ECB registration and CIDB 3EB or higher, active SARS tax status, and CSD registration are invited to bid. The contract covers preventive, corrective, emergency, installation/modification, and lighting works across PRASA Metrorail NGR sites (stations, depots, substations, signal rooms). Two competent electrical maintenance contractors will be appointed.

Requirements

• Active CIDB grading 3EB or higher (lead partner in JV if applicable) and CIDB CRS number.
• Registered with Electrical Conformance Board (ECB); provide ECB number.
• Tax/compliance: SARS PIN for tax verification; Tax Compliance Status; if part of a consortium, each party must comply; CSD registration number if no TCS.
• Stage 1 mandatory docs: fully completed Price Schedule/BOQ; JV/consortium/trust deed if applicable; proof of CIDB status; ECB number.
• Stage 1B mandatory docs: COIDA/RMA/FEM good standing; SARS PIN; CSD number or report; company registration/CK1.
• Proximity/footprint: proof of business address near Pretoria Station (company footprint) to support logistical efficiency.
• Labour and safety: adherence to SA minimum wage for labour; qualified Electrician tradesperson on site; safety file and PPE compliance; vehicle readiness (proof of ownership or hire) for service delivery.
• Contract specifics: 75 km travel limit per trip; 3EB+ requirement must be maintained during procurement and contract.
• Evaluation: 60% threshold for technical/functionality; 80/20 or 90/10 preference scoring for price vs. specific goals (BBB-EE, black-owned categories).
