Overview

CSIR invites quotations for the inspection, maintenance, load testing and repairs of lifting equipment and lifting tackles at multiple CSIR sites for a period of 5 years. Bidders must be registered Lifting Machinery Entities (LME) with certified Lifting Machinery Inspectors (LMI), hold CIDB 2ME or higher, and meet statutory safety/tax/compliance prerequisites to operate across CSIR campuses (Annexure A).

Requirements

• Registered LME; inspections/load testing by certified LMI (EC South Africa).
• LME certificate (with LIC/COID considerations) and LMI qualifications for deployed personnel.
• CIDB CRS No. 2ME or higher (lead or JV requirements as applicable).
• Mandatory returnables: Annexure B (Bill of Quantities), COIDA letter, LMI certificate, LME certificate, 3 reference letters (2015–date), SBD 1 & 4, NDA (Annexure F).
• Minimum CV: lifting machinery inspector with ≥5 years’ experience.
• Tax compliance and CSD/National Treasury checks; NT/ CIDB verifications.
• Adherence to scope (Annexure A) including inspections, load testing, repairs, resupply of parts, tagging, and CMMS updates.
