Overview

RFQ for the removal of existing carpets, supply, and installation of new carpet flooring at Building 35 Ground Floor, CSIR Pretoria, Scientia Campus. Bidders should be contractors with CIDB registration 1 GB or higher and experience in flooring/fit-out works, plus required compliance documents (tax, CIDB, returnables) as detailed in the tender.

Requirements

• CIDB registration 1 GB or higher (or JV with lead partner meeting this)
• Valid letter of good standing from the Department of Employment and Labour or approved insurer
• Tax compliance: TCS PIN or SARS/CSD status; proof to be provided
• Fully completed Annexure B: Bill of Quantities; and two contactable references (2021–2026)
• Essential returnables: Annexure C (SBD1), Annexure D (SBD4), Annexure E (BBBEE preferences), Annexure F (Mutual NDA)
• Technical carpet specification documented (Annexure A) and 12-month workmanship warranty plus manufacturer warranties; waste disposal certificates if required
• Proof of CIDB registration and compliance, and adherence to scope (Annexure A)

• Submission method: electronic to tender@csir.co.za; include RFQ No and description in subject; per email max 25MB (see section 8 of the RFQ)
• Documents to submit: fully completed Annexures A–F as applicable, including Annexure B (Bill of Quantities) and CIDB/tax/CSD compliance documents
• Pre-qualifications: CIDB 1 GB or higher; valid tax and good standing; CSD/National Treasury verification
• Briefing/site attendance: not listed as mandatory (site inspections may be conducted as needed)
• Where to obtain documents: RFQ package (Annexures A–F) attached to the PDF; pricing via Annexure B

Notes: Pricing must be in Rand, inclusive of taxes and destination costs, with a detailed Bill of Quantities (Annexure B). The CSIR may extend deadlines or negotiate terms per special conditions (see attached RFQ).
