Overview

RFQ for the Renovation of Office Spaces in Buildings 41 and 42 at the CSIR Scientia Campus, Pretoria, including demolition, aluminium doors, ceilings, bulkheads, painting and a kitchen upgrade. Bidders should be skilled contractors with CIDB 2GB+ registration, proven office-renovation experience, and ability to provide the required returnables, references and compliance documentation.

Requirements

• CIDB registration 2GB or higher (or CRS number of 2GB+), and compliance for joint ventures as applicable.
• Complete returnables: Annexure C (SBD 1), Annexure D (SBD 4), Annexure E (Preference Points), Annexure F (Mutual NDA); plus a BOM (Annexure B) with BOQ/explanations for deviations.
• Mandatory documents: Letter of Good Standing (COIDA) and proof of CIDB; minimum of three contactable references (2020–2026) showing office renovations, floor covering, painting, aluminium door installation.
• Tax and compliance: tax-compliant status (SARS TCS or CSD number) for all parties; registration on the Central Supplier Database where required.
• Standards and safety: compliance with SANS/SABS where relevant, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and CSIR SHEQ requirements (safety file, permits-to-work, site induction).
• Scope alignment: capacity to execute all items in Annexure A and Bill of Quantities (Annexure B) within the CSIR’s terms, with 12-month workmanship warranty.

How to Apply

• Submission deadline: 3 August 2026, 16:30 (late submissions not accepted).
• Submission method: electronically to tender@csir.co.za; use RFQ No 6735/03/08/2026 and description as subject.
• Documents to submit: Annexures A–F as required; BOQ; pricing per Annexure B; pricing must be in ZAR including taxes; risk of escalation clearly indicated if applicable (see pricing rules).
• File submissions: email size per submission limited to 25 MB; do not use cloud transfers.
• Mandatory technical/economic prerequisites: CIDB 2GB+; tax/compliance proof; at least three references; signed SBD forms; NDA.
• Location/delivery: CSIR Scientia Campus, Building 41 and 42, Meiring Naude Road, Brummeria, Pretoria (delivery of final deliverables per contract).
