Overview

RFQ for repairs of sewer drains at CSIR Durban campus. It covers 113 m of sewer line across 110 mm earthenware, cast iron and PVC, including relining (CIPP and spray-injection), concrete work, CCTV, and reinstatement. Bidders with CIDB 1 SO or higher (or a compliant JV) and relevant relining qualifications should bid.

Requirements

• CIDB: registration as 1 SO or higher, or JV where lead partner is 1 SO+; all partners CIDB registered.
• Essential returnables: Annexure C (SBD 1), Annexure D (SBD 4), Annexure E (Preference Points), Annexure F (Mutual NDA).
• Mandatory returnables: fully completed pricing schedule (Annexure B) on company letterhead; valid COIDA letter of good standing; at least two contactable references for drainage/sewer relining (2021–2026); CIDB registration; authorized applicator certificate for chosen relining products.
• Tax/CSD: SARS tax-compliance status (TCS PIN) or CSD registration; not a Tender Defaulter; compliant with NT database.
• Briefing: compulsory online briefing (30 Jul 2026, 14h00–15h00).
• Other: CSIR safety file approved before works; project plan and schedule; price with contingencies; 50-year design life for CIPP liner and 5-year workmanship warranty.
• Evaluation: elimination criteria include missing documents or non-attendance of briefing; 80/20 price-preference scoring (Black Ownership 20 points).
