Overview

RFQ 6738.1/30/09/2026 seeks quotations for the repairs of CSIR Durban sewer drains, including mechanical cleaning, CIPP lining/relining across Sections 1–9, concrete works, CCTV pre/post surveys and related deliverables. Suitable bidders are civil/construction contractors with CIDB 1 SO or higher, sewer rehabilitation experience, and ability to meet CSIR pre-qualifications (CIDB, tax, COIDA, NDA).

Requirements

• CIDB registration of 1 SO or higher (or capability to obtain before closing); JV allowed with lead partner meeting 1 SO.
• Essential and Mandatory returnables: SBD forms (Annexures C and D), Pricing Schedule (Annexure B) and Mandatory documents (Annexure E, F).
• Valid letter of good standing from COIDA or approved insurer.
• Minimum two contactable references for relining work (2019–2026).
• CIDB proof of registration; if JV, each party must meet CIDB/CSD requirements.
• Product competency documents from manufacturer/supplier (training certificate, installer/accreditation, or approved applicator certificate) or supplier confirmation with past experience.
• Tax compliance: SARS PIN or proof of tax status;/or CSD number; proof for each JV/consortium member.
• BBBEE documentation if claiming preference points (BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit).
• Mutual NDA (Annexure F) and compliance with POPI/confidentiality requirements.
• Project plan/schedule and method statements for trenching, relining and curing (as per Annexure A/B requirements).
• Site/briefing and safety prerequisites, including CSIR SHEQ safety file.
