Overview

Sale by Tender of CGS Guardian, an offshore patrol vessel, on an “AS IS WHERE IS” basis. Potential bidders should be buyers of maritime assets, ship brokers, defense/security fleet operators, insurers, or parties capable of arranging vessel removal and international/domestic delivery within the stated payment terms.

Requirements

• Vessel sold on an “AS IS WHERE IS” basis with no warranties.
• Offer valid for 90 days from the submission deadline.
• Offers in a sealed envelope, marked with the Sale by Tender reference, delivered to the Police Tender Unit (Registered Post or tender box).
• Late submissions will be rejected; bid opening 27 Aug 2026 at 11:00 hrs in the Police Tender Unit conference room.
• Clarifications required 14 days before the deadline; responses within 7 days.
• Prospective buyers may inspect the vessel by appointment (Port Louis Harbour; contact PS S. Etwarah).
• All bid costs borne by the bidder. Removal of gun mounts by bidder; final handover after removal to National Coast Guard.
• Final sale contract in English; Mauritius law; Government payment terms: 10% advance within 10 days of award; balance within 30 days; currencies: USD/GBP/EUR for overseas, MUR for locals. Possession within 60 days of award. VAT at 15% applies; price expressed in various currencies will be converted to MUR for evaluation.
• Police Department reserves the right to accept/reject any bid.

How to Apply

• Download tender documents from the Public Procurement Portal (Procurement Notice: Sale by Tender No. 1 of 2026/27).
• Submit by Registered Post or deposit in the Tender Box by 27 Aug 2026, 10:30 local time (late submissions rejected).
• Bid opening attended by bidders’ representatives on 27 Aug 2026 at 11:00 hrs (address in document).
• Inspect the vessel by appointment (Quay ‘B’, Port Louis Harbour).
• Obtain documents from the Procurement Portal; specific forms or pricing schedules referenced in the Bidding Document (see Bidding Document).
