REQUEST FOR TENDER FOR THE PROVISION OF KMFRI MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE COVER FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS

Overview

KMFRI invites insurance providers to bid to provide motor vehicle insurance cover for KMFRI’s fleet for a two-year period. Eligible bidders are insurance service providers registered by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) to operate in Kenya; joint ventures are allowed with Kenya-based partners, and Kenyan-based bidders are preferred. The contract covers KMFRI motor vehicles for two years. Submission is by 4 November 2026 (10:00 local time) at KMFRI, Mombasa, with both hard copy and a soft copy on a flash drive; bids are opened publicly in KMFRI’s auditorium. Requirements

• IRA-registered insurance service provider eligible to tender.
• Kenya tax compliance certificate required.
• No debarment and no conflicts of interest; must sign declarations (e.g., Independent Tender Determination).
• Tender security of KES 70,000 is required; bid prices in Kenya Shillings; currency fixed for tender.
• JV rules apply; maximum JV members as specified in the TDS; all members jointly liable.
• Documentation: Form of Tender, Schedule of Prices, Power of Attorney, qualifications/eligibility documents, and sample insurance policy (as applicable).
• No pre-qualification; adherence to ITT and TDS criteria.

How to Apply

• Obtain tender documents from KMFRI website or purchase for KES 1,000 (electronic copies free); request clarifications by 4 Nov 2026 (supplies@kmfri.go.ke).
• Submit by 4 Nov 2026 at 10:00, in sealed hard-copy envelope with a soft copy on a flash drive; place in KMFRI tender box (no electronic submission option).
