Overview

Procurement of a service provider to supply and deliver laboratory chemicals and consumables for the Fisheries Management branch of the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (MLRF), with Western Cape service providers only. Bidders should be accredited suppliers of laboratory reagents and labware, with CSD registration and tax compliance.

Requirements

• Accredited supplier (e.g., ISO 9001 or equivalent) and compliance with SA regulatory standards for laboratory supplies.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience supplying laboratory labware/chemicals to reputable institutions; provide verifiable client references.
• Demonstrated technical expertise, product knowledge, and after-sales support.
• Quality assurance: products meeting internationally recognised standards; certificates of conformity where relevant.
• Proven supply capacity and reliability (stock availability, contingency plans for backorders/delays).
• After-sales policies and warranties; clear return/replacement processes.
• Mandatory registrations/qualifications: registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD); tax matters in order; bidder to be able to obtain an MLRF Purchase Order and, if applicable, be registered on the MLRF Oracle ERP system.

• Documents to complete/submit: standard bidding documents (SBD1, SBD2, SBD3.1/3.3, SBD4, SBD6.1) plus tax clearance or SARS Tax Compliance Status, CSD/MAAA number, CK1/entity docs, letters of authority, and two-part technical and pricing proposals. Include SBD6.1 for preference points.
