Overview

RFI for Next Generation Campus Network Infrastructure at UKZN. This is an information-gathering exercise for OEMs to share capabilities on modern campus network architectures, fibre-first migration, WiFi 6/7, and related tooling. Eligible bidders are Enterprise-level OEMs meeting SA deployment and support requirements; the aim is to understand options, migration paths, and commercial models, not to procure services at this stage.

Requirements

• Submissions limited to OEMs.
• OEMs in Gartner Leaders quadrant (2025/2026) for Enterprise wired and wireless LANs, or enterprise OEMs with deployments at UKZN.
• Strong technical support structure within South Africa.
• Demonstrated deployments of their equipment in similar SA environments.
• Covering letter stating how each requirement is met, with contact details.

• Format: PDF submission including the RFI number, project name, company name, with required returnables and attachments (Ukzn Network Rfi.pdf).
• What to submit: detailed technical response per section, high-level architecture diagrams, indicative pricing, deployment strategy, support/training approach; separate content for (i) Switching (Wired LAN) and (ii) Wireless (WiFi) environments (Ukzn Network Rfi.pdf).
