Overview

The University of KwaZulu-Natal invites quotes for the appointment of a service provider to repair fume hoods at the Pietermaritzburg campus. Bidders with mechanical/electrical repair capabilities and lab-equipment maintenance experience, who are BBBEE-compliant and able to meet UKZN procurement policies, should consider bidding.

Requirements

• BBBEE compliance under UKZN policy; price and BBBEE weighting 80/20.
• Submissions must be electronic to caes-proc@ukzn.ac.za; include RFQ number and project name in the subject.
• No hard copies, facsimile transmissions, or late quotes accepted.
• RFQ returnables as specified in the RFQ document; documents are in English and issued within 28–30 Oct 2026.
• Compulsory briefing session on 02 November 2026 (10:00 at Front Foyer, Rabie Saunders Building, Carbis Road; 11:30 at Old Chemistry Building, Ridge Road). See attached document for details (ADVERT RFQ CAES 04 26 FUMEHOOD REPAIRS 28.10.2026.pdf).
• Closing date/time: 06 November 2026 at 12:00. The University may accept all or part of any quote.
• RFQ documents issued via email; RFQ returnables clearly specified in the RFQ document.

• RFQ documents available 28–30 Oct 2026; request via caes-proc@ukzn.ac.za; requests close 15:30 on 30 Oct 2026 (see ADVERT RFQ CAES 04 26 FUMEHOOD REPAIRS 28.10.2026.pdf).
• Submit offers electronically to caes-proc@ukzn.ac.za with RFQ number and project name in the subject line.
• Include the RFQ returnables as specified in the RFQ document and reflect RFQ number, project name, company name, and closing date/time; include BBBEE status as required.
