Overview

RFQ to appoint an external GHG/Carbon accounting specialist to review Land Bank's GHG methodology and support the FY2026/27 baseline. Bidders should be service providers with deep GHG accounting experience (GHG Protocol, PCAF, IFRS S2/TCFD/CDP), SA AFOLU emission factor expertise (DFFE, ARC, Stats SA), and proven workshop facilitation skills to work with the Sustainability Team.

Requirements

• Mandatory experience and qualifications:
• 4–6 years cumulative technical GHG accounting experience per the GHG Protocol; provide a project list.
• Demonstrated familiarity with South African agricultural systems and SA emission sources (DFFE AFOLU, ARC, Stats SA) and at least two SA-focused projects.
• Experience with the PCAF Global GHG Accounting and Financing emissions for agricultural/AFOLU lending; provide three contactable references (one from a financial institution).
• Experience with IFRS S2, TCFD, or CDP; at least one relevant project in the last five years.
• Team Lead: 6+ years in GHG accounting; CV with three engagements and certifications.
• Technical/Senior Specialist: AFOLU expertise; CV with similar details.
• Strong facilitation and workshop delivery experience; evidence from three projects.
• Documentation/compliance:
• SARS good standing, CSD registration or equivalent, and Tax Compliance Status (PIN); SBD forms completed (SBD 4, SBD 6.1) with conflict-of-interest disclosures.
• Confidentiality agreement required.
