Overview

RFQ for the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of custom-made steel-framed playground equipment for the National Museum Bloemfontein, incorporating a farm-themed play experience. Bidders should be qualified manufacturers/fabricators capable of design, fabrication, outdoor coatings, safety-compliant installation and commissioning. A compulsory site briefing is planned, and responses are submitted by email.

Requirements

• Compulsory site briefing and attendance.
• Provide a detailed playground design, fabrication drawings, manufacturing of steel-framed structures, corrosion-resistant coatings, all play components, delivery and installation, and final safety inspections/commissioning.
• Design must be farm-themed; include a large Ox Wagon, animal figures (oxen, sheep, horses), and specified materials/finishes.
• Safety compliance: meet recognised playground standards, avoid pinch points/sharp edges, fall protection where needed, age range 3–12, safe access/egress, structural certification where required.
• Compulsory documents to attach: detailed design, signed SBD4, tax-compliance with SARS pin, CSD registration with supplier report, active SA company with CIPC documents, and conformance to specifications.
• Non-compliance may disqualify; bids valid for 90 days. Preference points follow 80/20 rules with BBBEE/empowerment considerations; valid proof of claim required.

• Documents to submit: completed SBD4; tax clearance/PIN; CSD registration (supplier report); CIPC registration documents; detailed design; conformance to specs; optional BBBEE certificate/declaration for points.
• Cost/price: provide a full cost schedule including VAT, with items (design, Ox wagon, animals, delivery, installation, foundation if any) and a grand total.
