Overview

Supply and delivery of access control hardware to the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Bidders should be suppliers or distributors of access‑control hardware and related electronic components, capable of delivering to UKZN, with evaluation based on price and BBBEE (80/20).

Requirements

• Electronic submission only; no hard copies. No late bids accepted.
• Bid documents to reflect Bid Number, project name, company name, closing date/time; documents issued in English only.
• Bid documents available 28 Aug 2026 09:00 to 3 Sep 2026 09:00; requests via email to Nontuthuzelo Pato (PatoN@ukzn.ac.za) (see ADVERT TEMPLATE RFQ UKZN 59 26 FMST APPROVED.pdf).
• Submit bids electronically to Centralprocurement@ukzn.ac.za with the Bid Number and project name in the subject line.
• Compulsory briefing session: Not Applicable.
• The University may not accept the lowest bid and reserves the right to award any portion. Returnables to be specified in the bid documents; reflect Bid Number, project name, company name, closing date/time.
• If no communication is received within 90 working days after closing, consider the bid unsuccessful.
• BBBEE policy applies (Price & BBBEE 80/20).

How to Apply

• Determine eligibility under BBBEE and ability to supply access control hardware.
• Request bid documents by emailing Nontuthuzelo Pato at PatoN@ukzn.ac.za during the availability window.

• Submit electronically to Centralprocurement@ukzn.ac.za by 09 Sep 2026 12:00; ensure the subject line includes the Bid Number and project name.
• Do not send hard copies or facsimiles.
• If you do not hear within 90 working days, assume unsuccessful.
• Bid documents are available only within the stated window and via email request (see filename cited).
