Overview

Procurement of collection and disposal of hazardous and biological waste at Cydna Laboratories, Houghton, Johannesburg, to be performed by a service provider with hazardous waste transport and disposal capabilities. Bidders should be experienced in hazardous/healthcare waste handling, with valid permits (hazardous waste transporter and landfill/healthcare waste regulations), and relevant certifications (BBBEE, CSD registration).

Requirements

• Compliance: Hazardous Landfill site permit; Health Care Risk Waste transporter authorization (Gauteng regs 2004); valid transporter certificate (GDE/GWIS) marked Hazardous; facility agreement; Emergency Preparedness Plan; COJ transport permit; reporting of waste quantities after disposal.
• Subcontracting: permitted with disclosure and written subcontracting agreements; subcontractors must meet all permits and legislative requirements.
• Scope specifics: supply packaging materials and provide collection, transportation and disposal of hazardous/biological waste generated at Cydna Laboratories; four collection trips; quantities and items as per specification (e.g., cable ties, red liners, 20 L drums, COD/Cyanide/Phenol vials).
• Evaluation: 80/20 price-to-specific-goals PPPFA 2022; 60-day bid validity; taxes included in quotes.
