Overview

Cape Agulhas Municipality invites open bidding SCM11/2026/27 for cutting of grass at Waste Water Treatment Works and Water Treatment Works across the Cape Agulhas municipal area. The 12-month contract targets grass maintenance at multiple facilities; suitable bidders have landscaping/grass-cutting expertise, access to appropriate equipment, and capability to meet local, tax, and BBBEE requirements.

Requirements

• 12-month contract to cut/remove grass at specified WWTW/WTW sites; max cut height 50 mm; 4 cuts per site per year.
• Minimum 3 publicly funded grass-cutting/landscaping projects in last 5 years; provide Schedule 1F references; minimum 8 points on experience.
• Equipment/ownership: provide proof of existing brush cutters and ownership of a vehicle (directors’ ownership). Extra 5 points if both are shown.
• Workmanship and safety: supervised by qualified personnel; PPE; barricades and warning signs.
• Local labour: recruit from within Cape Agulhas; insist on induction, OHS training, and applicable minimum wage; age restrictions.
• Skills development: machine operation, plant identification, herbicide application.
• Compliance: Tax Compliance PIN; CSD number if VAT-registered; B-BBEE certificate (or sworn affidavit); declaration of interest; other compulsory confirmations.
• Site handover: final inspection by a Cape Agulhas representative upon completion.
• Pricing: submitted on official forms; rate per square metre per cutting event, inclusive of all costs; indicate VAT status.
