Overview

Procurement of a service provider to produce a 300-page monograph and six factsheets for the SABSSM project. HSRC seeks an experienced academic publishing partner with editorial, graphic design, typesetting, and printing capacity to deliver a print monograph (100 copies) plus an e-version and six factsheets within about three months, with ISBN registration and appropriate dissemination materials. Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in academic publishing (English-language publications) and 5+ years in project management for producing/printing academic works.
• Provide a list of at least 3 scientific editors with CVs, experienced in public health/children/HIV editing.
• Editor to review draft and final monograph and six factsheets, advising on content, structure, data presentation, and dissemination.
• Production management capabilities: typesetting, indexing, formatting/graphic design, cover design, image rights, full printing process, delivery, ISBN registration, and peer-review confirmation.
• Factsheet production: graphic design, print-ready and digital-ready versions.
• Printing specs: 100 copies of the monograph; A4, 100 gsm inner pages, 200 gsm cover, color infographics, duplex printing, 2.5 cm margins, perfect binding, laminated cover, matte interior.
• Deliverables: print and e-version of monograph; print-ready and digital-ready factsheets; delivery to HSRC Pretoria office.
• Documentation: company profile/capability statement, CV of project lead, staff qualifications; at least 3 references with letters; at least 3 examples of similar publications in 5 years; detailed cost breakdown; project execution plan and timelines.
• Compliance: complete SBD forms and pricing documents; comply with evaluation criteria (80/20 or 90/10 preference system) and minimum threshold of 75.
