Overview

Procurement of a service provider to install 340 solar LED bird flappers on 20 guy ropes at the Thabazimbi site using an abseiling/rappelling system, including safety documentation and a project file. Suitable bidders are rope-access specialists with abseiling expertise, solar/LED installation capability, and strong OH&S compliance; must be registered on Sentech’s supplier database and meet tax/compliance checks.

Requirements

• Administrative and pre-qualification:
  • Supplier must be registered on the Sentech Supplier Database and be tax compliant; quotations on Company Letterhead; fully completed and signed; submitted via the specified method (email).
  • Confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations apply.
• Technical and safety qualifications:
  • 1 x Level 3 rope-access supervisor and 6 x Level 1 rope-access personnel (proof via accredited certificates).
  • Compliance with COIDA and a valid Letter of Good Standing from the Department of Labour/FEM/RMA.
• Scope and safety documentation:
  • Prepare a Safety file per Annexure A, including risk assessments, fall-protection plans, method statements, and inductions/toolbox talks.
  • Medical fitness certificate for all onsite staff; Public Liability Insurance; Section 37 agreement; Waste disposal plan.
• Evaluation criteria:
  • Must meet mandatory criteria (administrative and technical) to be evaluated; functional criteria require a detailed method statement and project program; lowest price plus BBBEE preference points apply.
• Other:
  • Evidence of previous related rope-access projects and suitable team Leader CVs; demonstrated site capability.
