SIDWADWENI REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY SCHEME PHASE 5B – CONSTRUCTION OF RISING MAIN PIPELINE AND NDUKU COMMAND RESERVOIR - CONTRACT 2

Overview

The tender is for the construction of a rising main pipeline and Nduku Command Reservoir (Sidwadweni Regional Water Supply Scheme Phase 5B, Contract 2). Open to CIDB-registered contractors with water infrastructure experience and the capacity to meet the 70-point functionality threshold; bidders must meet CIDB grading 8CE, CIDB Active status, and provide tax clearance, CSD registration, COID/Labour standing, and other returnable documents.

Requirements

• CIDB: Active at tender close; minimum grading 8CE; JV partners must also meet CIDB requirements.
• Tax & registrations: Tax clearance PIN/number; SARS e-filing evidence; CSD registration; separate proof for each JV/consortium member.
• Returnable documents: Complete tender docs, Form of Offer, proof of CIDB, audited financials if >R10m, IDs for directors, and good standing where applicable.
• Health & safety: COID good standing; evidence from Department of Labour; sign-off on health & safety requirements.
• Subcontracting: Minimum 20% of contract value to designated groups; evidence of SMME/QSE participation and local targeting.
• Briefing/site attendance: Attend compulsory briefing and site inspection; sign attendance registers.
• Insurance & risk: Full contract insurance; employer risk analysis of reasonableness of price and rates; readiness to complete works safely and timeously.

• Attend the compulsory clarification briefing: 07 October 2026, 10:00, Mhlontlo Local Municipality, Tsolo Town Hall, then site visit.
• Submit by: 03 November 2026 at 12:00 in a sealed envelope to the Open Tender Box (Ground Floor, OR Tambo District Municipality Building, Mthatha); submissions by courier or post are not guaranteed.
