Overview

Procurement of NEC4 Term Service Contract (Option A) for the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) expansions with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at the University of the Witwatersrand. The five-year open tender targets Solar/EPC and related civil works with on-site infrastructure (carports, roofing, electrical works). Pre-qualification requires CIDB 5EP or 5EB or higher, SA entity or local Johannesburg presence, Tax Clearance, VAT where applicable, COIDA, insurance, bank rating/good standing, and local presence.

Requirements

• CIDB: 5EP or 5EB or higher
• Tax clearance PIN (SARS) and VAT registration where applicable
• COIDA/Letter of Good Standing; insurance: Contractors Liability, Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, SASRIA
• Bank rating and/or proof of financial facilities; evidence of local presence in Greater Johannesburg
• Annual Financial Statements (last 3 years); for partnerships/joint ventures, each member complies
• At least three contactable client references (last 3 years) for PV projects >70–100 kWp; completion certificates or client testimonials
• Key personnel: at least one ECSA-registered Electrical Engineer; working-at-heights certificate; CVs; proof of registrations
• Proof of assets/equipment; ability to mobilise on an active campus; adherence to NEC4 data and schedule requirements
• B-BBEE current certificate or sworn affidavit if EME/QSE; comprehensive insurance and risk management
• NEC4-specific: complete Schedule of Deviations (if applicable) and Form of Offer; compliant pricing
