Overview

Storm Damage Repairs and Renovations to Seatides Combined School in Pinetown District, KwaZulu-Natal – a 12-month construction contract for the KwaZulu-Natal DoE, appoined to Coega Development Corporation. Bidders must hold CIDB 7GB or higher (or be able to register) and be VAT vendors registered with SARS, with proven capacity for building repairs/renovations, including roofing, walls, windows, plumbing, electrical, site works, and related works for educational facilities. Local KwaZulu-Natal/Ethekwini-based contractors are preferred; the project requires strong OH&S, environmental, and quality systems, plus BBBEE compliance.

Requirements

• Active CIDB grading of 7GB or higher; capable of CIDB registration within 21 working days if not already registered.
• Proof of CIDB registration and VAT vendor status; tax compliance checked via CSD/SARS.
• Completion of mandatory bid documents: SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1, SBD 7.2; POPI consent; Form of Offer/Acceptance; JV if applicable.
• SANAS-accredited B-BBEE certificate for QSE/EME as required; consolidated JV certificates with individual certificates.
• CHSO/CHSM with SACPCMP registration; Construction Health & Safety compliance (OHSA, etc.); contractor to implement OH&S/ENV/QMS per project specs.
• Quality management plans, construction work programme, and relevant experience in education/GB-type projects; prior letters of appointment/completion certificates.
• Conditions include CIDB verification, environmental and safety requirements, and capacity limits (two active CDC projects rule).
