Overview

Procurement of supply, installation and commissioning of a portable X-ray tube with a PowerBox control unit; suitable for suppliers of portable X-ray imaging equipment and system integrators. The RFQ is issued by Armscor and closes 29 September 2026 (11:00). No briefing session is required.

Requirements

• Supply, install and commission a Portable X-ray Tube with PowerBox control unit meeting specified technical parameters (Kv 30–300; mA 0.5–10; direct anode voltage measurement; 66 mm steel penetration; 100% duty cycle at 30°C with air cooling; ≤35 kg). PowerBox: 5–255 s pre-warning, 3 pilot lights, independent START/STOP, 90–264 VAC, 45–66 Hz, -30 to 55°C.
• Include user training for Armscor officials.
• Minimum 12-month warranty from equipment acceptance.
• Provide one client reference letter (not older than 2 years) for similar supply/installation/commission.
• Submit Equipment Specification addressing all above parameters.
• Delivery to Armscor Dockyard, Simons Town.
• Compliance documents: CSD registration, Tax Clearance, CIPC registration, BBBEE status, Local content declarations (if applicable).
• Tax/compliance: tax clearance throughout contract; DTO/National Treasury CSD registration; security registration with Armscor.
• Evaluation relies on price (80) and specific goals (20); adhere to Preferential Procurement requirements and local content rules.

• Documents to submit (returnable): CSD registration or unique reference; valid SARS Tax Clearance; CIPC registration; BBBEE status; evidence of local content where applicable; equipment specification; client reference letter; SARS PIN (if available); unique CSD number.
• Pre-qualifications: tax compliance; registration on the National Treasury CSD; security registration for Armscor orders.
• Briefing session: not applicable (N/A).
• Where to obtain documents: RFQ text (REQUEST FOR QUOTATION -PORTABLE X-RAY.docx) and Bidder’s Disclosure (SBD 4.pdf). Include the Bidder’s Disclosure as part of submission.
• Payment terms: 30 days after invoiced service is rendered.
