Overview

Supply and delivery of Livestock Identification and Traceability System (LITS) ear tags and applicators for 2026/27. Open-tender for service providers with livestock traceability experience; must meet certifications (ICAR for HDX RFID ear tags; ISO 9001 for tag manufacturers) and be able to deliver 50,000 ear tags and 30 auto-retract applicators to Eastern Cape DoA (delivery to Dohne Agricultural Development Institute, Sutterheim).

Requirements

• Proven experience in livestock traceability; strong reputation with manufacturers/developers.
• Mandatory certifications: ICAR certificate for HDX RFID ear tags; ISO 9001 manufacturing quality management for tag supplier.
• Deliverables capability: 50,000 official ear tags and 30 two-piece auto-retract applicators; delivery within 60 days of appointment; replacement of damaged/non-compliant items at no extra cost.
• Proven prior delivery: letter/testimony confirming ≥20,000 tags previously supplied; proof of tag loss rates.
• Compliance and registration: valid Tax Compliance PIN; registered on CSD and LOGIS; hard copies of Tax Clearance not required; all returnables completed (ECBD docs, SBDs, JV agreements if any).
• Mandatory briefing: attend and demonstrate understanding of LITS program at the compulsory briefing (date/venue per bid doc).
