SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF MEAT FOR SANAEClosed

Overview

RFQ for the supply and delivery of meat for the SANAE Antarctic relief voyage, to the SANAP warehouse in Cape Town. Suitable bidders are meat suppliers with ISO 22000/HACCP (or equivalent) and the ability to source halal (with Kosher options if required), maintain strict cold-chain logistics, and supply to government tender standards. Preference will be given to bidders compliant with state sourcing rules and BBB-EE requirements (including possible JV arrangements for specific goals).

Requirements

• ISO 22000 or HACCP with ISO 9001 or ISO 22002 (or similar)
• Halal certification; ability to provide Kosher if required; outsourcing allowed via JV with a confirming letter (NB: JV arrangement must be documented)
• Food Premises Certificate (Municipality)
• Veterinary Approved Establishment certificate
• SBD 4 and SBD 6.1 forms completed and signed
• CSD/MAAA number; SARS PIN or tax/compliance proof
• BBB-EE certificate or sworn affidavit; evidence of ownership for >50% Black, Women, and/or Disabled (with points claimed)
• Deliverables per Annexures A & B (meat specifications, pack sizes, shelf life minimum 14 months)
• Delivery to SANAP East Pier Warehouse; within 10 working days after order; penalties up to 5% for noncompliance
• Cold chain maintained at all times; core temperature –18°C on frozen product; refrigerated transport; strict handling and labeling requirements

How to Apply

• Submit quote on your letterhead (including VAT where applicable) with banking details to RFQCT@dffe.gov.za by 22 October 2026 at 11:00.
• Include: completed SBD 4 and SBD 6.1; evidence for Halal/Kosher, Food Premises, ISO/HACCP, Veterinary Establishment; CSD/MAAA number; BBB-EE proof; tax PIN. If part of a JV, attach JV agreement letter and consolidated BBB-EE.
• Price validity: 90 days from RFQ close; quotes to include delivery costs for Cape Town.
• Annexures A & B define the exact meat types, pack sizes, weights, and required packaging/labeling (see DFFE RFQ 234 MEAT SANAE 2026.pdf).
• No delivery before official order; noncompliance may lead to cancellation or exclusion from supplier database.
