Overview

Contract for the supply and delivery of motor vehicle batteries. Open-competition bidding targeted at Kenyan battery manufacturers or authorized distributors with capacity to supply and deliver to Nairobi City County.

Requirements

• Compliance with Public Procurement rules (anti-corruption declarations; Certificate of Independent Tender Determination).
• Tender security of 100,000 Kenyan Shillings (cash, bank guarantee, insurer, or approved instrument) valid through tender validity.
• Evidence of eligibility and conformity: complete Form of Tender; eligibility and conformity docs; country of origin declarations; conformity to technical specifications.
• Manufacturer’s Authorization if the tenderer does not manufacture the goods; JV arrangements must include a Joint Venture Agreement or signed intent.
• Tax clearance or exemption as required; proper accounts and registration where applicable.
• All pages serialized, signed by authorized signatory; no more than one tender per firm or JV (with specific JV rules).

How to Apply

• Deadline: completed tenders must be delivered by 29 June 2026 at 11:00 (opening immediately after).
• Submission method: hard-copy submission only; original + copy to City Hall, 4th Floor Room 400, Supply Chain Management (electronic submissions not permitted).
• Documents to submit (as applicable): Form of Tender; Price Schedules; Tender Security or Tender-Securing Declaration; Manufacturer’s Authorization (if required); JV agreement or letter of intent; tax clearance; eligibility and origin/conformity documents; any other documents listed in the Tender Data Sheet (TDS).
• Where to obtain documents: complete tender set from Nairobi City County; non-refundable fee of 1,000 Kenyan shillings (cash or banker's cheque); electronic copies free from tenders.go.ke; notify via nairobiprocurement@gmail.com if downloaded.
• Clarifications: must be in writing; responses published per TDS; pre-tender meeting details (if any) per TDS.
• Currency: bids must be in Kenyan Shillings; price schedules to follow in the specified format; all prices fixed unless allowed by the TDS.
