Overview

Procurement of supply and delivery of PPE and related bedding and protective gear to the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DFFE), including items such as winter sheets, duvet covers, gloves, jackets, balaclavas, snow goggles and other specified PPE. Suitable bidders are PPE/safety gear suppliers and logistics/providers capable of sourcing, packaging and delivering to East Pier Shed, Waterfront, Cape Town, with some items requiring site visits.

Requirements

• Use the RFQ form; quotes must be on your letterhead and include VAT.
• 80/20 preference points system (price vs specific goals) for bids up to the applicable Rand value; specific goals include >50% ownership by Black people, Women, or People with Disabilities (20 points each).
• Complete and sign SBD 4 and SBD 6.1; provide supporting BBBEE/SANAS-CIPC documentation if claiming specific goals.
• Tax compliance: comply with Tax Acts; provide SARS PIN or CSD number.
• Provide CSD report or MAAA number; ensure VAT registration if applicable.
• For joint ventures, submit consolidated BBBEE credentials.
• Prices must be firm unless stated otherwise; price adjustments only for exchange rate.
• DFFE may request additional information; right to negotiate or not appoint.
• Some items require site visits (e.g., Onitsuka boots inners, Talberg Waterproof Trousers). Brand names are illustrative; substitutes allowed.

• Closing date and time: 20/10/2026 at 11:00.
• Submit Quotations to: Andiswa Charlie, RFQCT@dffe.gov.za (delivery address: East Pier Shed, East Pier Road, Waterfront, Cape Town) (see DFFE RFQ 219 PPE SANAE 2026.pdf).
• Documents to submit: complete and sign SBD 4 and SBD 6.1; provide CSD/SARS details; BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit; any required proof for specific goals.
• Quotation validity: quotations deemed valid for 90 days from RFQ close.
• Mandatory notes: reference RFQ number and ensure items match the delivery address; brand images are for illustration and equivalent items may be considered.
