Overview

Procurement of supply and delivery of various articles of protective clothing for use in structural fires by the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service. PPE manufacturers/suppliers with NFPA/EN certifications, ability to supply over a 36-month contract, provide compliant samples, and meet City SCM, tax, and supplier-registration requirements should bid.

Requirements

• Compliance with SCM Policy and tender conditions; complete returnable documents; no conflicts of interest; tax compliance; no prior SCM breaches.
• Certifications (per item): Leather Fire Boots EN15090:2012; Flash hood/Balaclava NFPA 1971 (2018); Structural outer shell, vapour barrier and thermal barrier NFPA 1971 (2018); Gloves EN 659:2003+A1:2008 and EN ISO 21420:2021; Firefighter Helmet NFPA 1970-2025; UL certification for hazardous-area devices where applicable.
• Samples: provide acceptable samples for each item within 21 business days of request.
• Pre-qualifications: registration on the CCT Supplier Database and on the National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD); SARS tax compliance status PIN.
• Health and safety: may require a Health and Safety Plan.
• Site/clarification: attend site visit/clarification (not compulsory but strongly recommended).
• Documents: Form of Offer and Acceptance, pricing schedules, and all returnable documents; provide details for JV/consortia if applicable.
• Evaluation: price (80) and preferences with Specific Goals; contract risk assessment conducted by CCT prior to award.
