Overview

Supply and delivery of various trailers for a period of 36 months (as and when required). Open to manufacturers or accredited distributors/agents of trailers who can supply OEM-grade units and meet pre-qualification requirements (CSD and municipal/vendor registrations, tax compliance, OH&S, and related tender formalities).

Requirements

• OEM manufacture or accredited agent; if an agent, provide OEM accreditation letter.
• Registered on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) and on the eThekwini vendor database; provide respective numbers.
• Tax compliance: Tax Clearance Certificate or Tax Compliance Status PIN; separate for each JV partner.
• Declaration of municipal fees (or acknowledged debt) and include relevant account numbers.
• Occupational Health and Safety compliance: complete the OHS declarations and related safety plan if requested.
• Declarations: MBD 4 (interest), MBD 5 (above R10m, if applicable), MBD 6.1 (preference points), MBD 8 (past SCM practices), MBD 9 (independent bid determination).
• Official Tender Form fully completed and signed; Authority of Signatory completed.
• Returnable documents must be provided; JV arrangements must include appropriate JV documentation.
• If applicable, provide proof of OEM accreditation if bidding as an agent (section details in the tender).

How to Apply

• Intermediate deadlines: email queries by 2026-06-25; answers posted by 2026-07-02 (see Tender Documents). Final closing: 2026-07-10 at 11:00.
• Submission method: hard-copy submission to the Tender Box at 166 KE Masinga Road, Durban, plus electronic submission via the ESP/JDE system. Hard copy is the ruling version.
• Documents to submit (illustrative): Official Tender Form (Section 9); Authority of Signatory; Tax Compliance PIN/Tax Clearance; Declaration of Municipal Fees; Occupational Health & Safety Declaration; MBD 4, 5 (if required), 6.1, 8, 9; any Joint Venture agreements.
• Registrations: CSD registration (MAAA number) and eThekwini supplier portal registration; printouts of PIN/Tax Clearance as required.
• Briefing: no clarification meeting.
• Where to obtain documents: electronic format from the eTenders or Durban procurement sites (refer to attached Tender Document: 31892 - 1J - Tender Document - Trailers_ApprovedD.pdf).
• Note: submission is per item; the Municipality may award per item to multiple bidders.
