Overview

This tender seeks to supply, deliver, and convert shipping containers into a storage facility (re-advert). It caters to bidders with experience in container modification, shopfitting, steel fabrication, logistics and delivery to multiple sites, and compliance with South African public sector procurement rules (MBD forms, local content, BBBEE, CSD, tax clearance).

Requirements

• Central Supplier Database registration (CSD) and SARS Tax Compliance Status (PIN) with supporting documentation; current municipal account or lease agreement; BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
• Proof of similar previous work (two appointment letters and completion certificate) and a manufacturer’s letter confirming Grade B steel containers.
• Local content compliance under SATS 1286: 100% for steel; Annex C/D/E local content declarations to be completed and audited.
• Complete and sign all bid documents: MBD1, MBD2, MBD3.1, MBD3.2, MBD3.3 (if applicable), MBD4, MBD6, MBD6.1, MBD6.2, MBD8, MBD9; ensure pages are signed and witnessed; two-envelope submission.
• Delivery terms: include VAT and delivery costs; delivery lead time to be stated; final inspection and handover to the municipality.
• Compliance with preconditions: not in state service; tax clearance; if applicable, joint ventures must provide JV agreement and related filings.

• Submission method: sealed bids in two envelopes (Envelope 1 Original, Envelope 2 Duplicate) deposited in the Bid Box at the SCM Unit, Municipal Stores Complex, Abattoir Road, Ashburnham, Kimberley 8301; no fax/email submissions.
• Documents to submit: official bid documents (MBD1, MBD2, MBD3.1, MBD3.2, MBD3.3 if applicable, MBD4, MBD6, MBD6.1, MBD6.2, MBD8, MBD9), pricing schedule, CSD and BBBEE documentation, municipal lease/account where applicable, local content declarations Annex C–E.
• Pre-qualification: complete CSD, tax compliance, municipal account/lease, and local content declarations; Joint Ventures must attach JV agreement and related documentation.
