Contract for Supply, Delivery, Installation and Testing of Outdoor 132 kV and 275 kV switchgear and associated equipment over 36 months at various substations. Issued by eThekwini Municipality. Suitable bidders are electrical/ HV switchgear suppliers and EPC installers with CIDB 9 EP (or higher), and who are registered on the eThekwini Supplier Portal and National Treasury CSD, with valid tax clearance and relevant certifications.

Requirements

• CIDB contractor grading designation of 9 EP (or higher) (active).
• Registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) and on the eThekwini Supplier Portal; maintain current details.
• Valid tax compliance status PIN; provide SARS Tax Clearance and CSD/CIDB verification as applicable.
• Provide returnable documents: MBD forms (at least MBD 4, 5, 6.2, 8, 9), declaration of municipal fees, Joint Venture agreements (if applicable), and CIDB verifications.
• CIDB registration/status verified; JV requirements if tendering as a joint venture (lead partner 9EP, combined rating meets requirement).
• Evidence of BBBEE status/Certificates as required; addenda acknowledged.
• Compulsory attendance at clarifications (if scheduled) and provision for clarifications via email; addenda, if issued, to be acknowledged.

• Register on CSD, the eThekwini Supplier Portal, and obtain JDE ESP system access if tendering electronically (see documents for steps).
• Submit tender offers in two forms: hard copy to the Tender Box at 166 KE Masinga Road, Durban, and electronically via the eThekwini JDE ESP Module; hard copy submission is the governing version.
• Submission deadline: 30 October 2026, 11:00 (hard copy and electronic upload).
• Intermediate deadlines: questions by 15 October 2026; answers posted by 22 October 2026 (see documents 34827-5E).
