Overview

Procurement of supply, installation, testing, commissioning and certification of fire fighting equipment on an “as and when required” basis at Transnet Engineering Durban Main Centre. Suitable bidders are CIDB 3SF or higher with SANS 1475 workshop certification, SAQCC Fire certificates for technicians, and SANAS hydrostatic testing accreditation. Includes compulsory clarification briefing (23 Sept 2026), site visit, and electronic bid submission via the Transnet e-tender portal. Closing 07 Oct 2026.

Requirements

• CIDB: contractor grading designation of 3SF or higher; eligible JV rules.
• Stage 1 mandatory accreditations: SANS 1475 workshop certificate; SAQCC Fire certificates/cards for technicians; SANAS hydrotest station accreditation (or sub-contractor with valid certificate).
• Functional eligibility: minimum 85 points for functionality; detailed evaluation criteria in Annex B.
• Pre-qualification/documentation: CIDB proof, CSD registration, valid Tax Clearance, BBBEE (SANAS or sworn affidavit for EMEs/QSEs), Workmen’s Comp Good Standing, and related returnable schedules (e.g., T2.2 series).
• Attendance at compulsory clarification meeting and site visit with proper PPE (documented in T1/T2 and Annexes).

• Registrations/pre-qualifications: CIDB, CSD, SANAS/SANS, SAQCC Fire, SANAS hydro-test facility; tax clearance; Worksafe/SSO as applicable.
• Briefing/site details: Compulsory briefing 23 Sept 2026 at Transnet Durban Main Centre; site walk with PPE as described in the RFP.
