Overview

Procurement of surface repairs to roads, sidewalks and trench re-instatements in the West Central region of eThekwini Municipality for 24 months. Suitable for civil/roadworks contractors with CIDB grade 6 CE or higher, experience in roadworks and trench reinstatement, and registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) and the eThekwini Supplier Portal (JDE access is required).

Requirements

• CIDB designation: 6 CE (or higher); compliance with CIDB/B.U.I.L.D. expectations as applicable.
• Pre-qualification/registrations: valid on the CSD and the eThekwini Supplier Portal; access to the JDE ESP system.
• Financial/compliance: Tax Compliance Status PINs, CIDB status, and B-BBEE status (where applicable) verified via CSD; Audited Financial Statements if tender value exceeds R10 million; municipal rates/taxes clearance; returnable forms (e.g., MBD 5) and a listing of contracts awarded in the past 5 years.
• Tendering process: 12-month tender validity; competitive evaluation with 80/20 price preference; mandatory clarification briefing attendance.

• Attend the compulsory Clarification Meeting on 5 October 2026 at 09:00 (Engineering Training Centre, Springfield); Q&A posted by 23 October 2026.
• Prepare submissions:
  • Hard copy tender to the Tender Box, 166 KE Masinga Road, Durban; closing 30 October 2026 by 11:00.
  • Electronic submission via the eThekwini JDE ESP Module; hard copy submission is required for validity.
