Overview

Surfacing of Gravel Roads in Sedgefield (Ward 1) – a Knysna Municipality construction project open to bidders with CIDB designation 4 CE or higher. The scope includes surfacing Mbetla Street and seven cul de sacs in Sedgefield Ward 1. Documents are available from 10 July 2026.

Requirements

• CIDB minimum: 4 CE or higher.
• Subcontract at least 25% of contract value to Local EMEs.
• Functionality: minimum 70/100 to proceed to price/preference evaluation; elimination if <60% on two sub-criteria.
• Evaluation: 80/20 preference points; compliance with SCM Policy and Preferential Procurement Regulations 2022.
• Bids must remain valid for 180 days; extension requests may be made by the Municipality.
• Bids must be submitted on the issued bid documentation; include an Original, a Copy, and a USB copy.
• No late, telephonic, facsimile, or e-mail bids accepted.

• Compulsory clarification meeting: 23 July 2026 at 10:00, Sedgefield Smutsville Community Hall. (see T1.1)
• Submission deadline: 12 August 2026, 12:00. Bids sealed and labeled with bid number/title; delivered to the Supply Chain Management Unit, Finance Building, Queen Street, Knysna.
• Bids opened on 12 August 2026 at 12:05 in the SCM Section.
• Ensure original, copy, and USB submission as specified; late or non-conforming bids will not be considered. (T1.1)
