TENDER FOR PROVISION OF MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE SERVICES COVER

Overview

Kenyatta University is procuring motor vehicle insurance services cover for its fleet. Open to Insurance Brokers and Underwriters dealing in motor vehicle insurance, registered with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA); IRA registration is required for contract award; Joint ventures allowed with liability arrangements as described in the tender documents (Tender Document).

Requirements

• Copy of Certificate of Incorporation/Registration
• Copy of current Tax Compliance Certificate
• Copy of IRA registration (evidence for 2026)
• Tender Security of KES 160,000 (valid 156 days from opening)
• Professional Indemnity limit of Ksh 15 million
• Letter from the underwriter confirming to underwrite
• Duly filled, signed, stamped mandatory business questionnaire
• Duly filled tender forms and price schedule (SD forms) as provided
• Copy of CR12 Certificate
• Tender documents to be submitted in two copies: Original and Copy

How to Apply

• Deadline: 10 November 2026 at 10:00; non-electronic submissions only (No electronic tendering) (Tender Document).
• Submission method: sealed envelopes with separate ORIGINAL and COPY, delivered to Kenyatta University, Procurement Department, Main Campus, Central Administration Complex, Ground Floor Room No.9, in a tender box (TDS).
• Documents to submit: Form of Tender, Schedule of Requirements, Tender Security, SD1/SD2 and related forms, proof of IRA registration, tax compliance, and two copies of the bid (Tender Document).
• Pre-qualification/site visit: not required; pre-tender meeting shall not take place (Tender Document).
• Purchase/download of documents: hard copies for a non-refundable KES 1,000; electronic copies free via KU or tenders.go.ke (Tender Document).
• Clarifications: in writing to Head, Procurement Department; responses published on KU/go.ke websites (Tender Document).
• Standstill period: 14 days after notification of intention to award (Tender Document).
• Standalone condition: IRA registration is required before contract signature (as specified in the tender).
