Overview

The George Municipality invites tenders to appoint a panel of electrical contracting firms to execute capital projects on an "as and when required" basis from appointment until 30 June 2029, with work allocated by work packages.

Requirements

• CIDB grading of at least 2EP/3EP/4EP or higher (or as determined by tendered value) and CIDB registration validity throughout the contract.
• Panel setup may appoint up to five contractors; work allocated via RFQ per package.
• Site Supervisor must be a Qualified Electrician/Linesman with valid ORHVS certification and at least 5 years’ relevant experience; submit ID, qualifications, CV, and ORHVS certificate.
• DoEL electrical Contractor registration valid for the duration of the contract.
• Minimum functionality score of 90/120 ( Experience 60, Plant 40, Key staff 20 ).
• Compulsory clarification/briefing and attendance is required.
• Compliance documents: Tax Compliance Status (TCS PIN), CIDB proof, BBBEE certificate, CSD registration.

• Submission method: Hard-copy tender in sealed envelope; place in Tender Box as specified; documents include Part T1 and T2 with all returnable schedules.
• Documents to complete/submit: Returnable schedules (Part T2) and all required MBD forms (MBD 1, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9, 15) plus forms 2.1.1–2.1.12; include CIDB grading, DoEL registration, Tax PIN, BBBEE, CSD, and original submission with full signatures.
• Registrations/pre-qualifications: CIDB registration; electrical contractor registration with DoEL; Tax compliance; CSD registration; ORHVS-certified Site Supervisor details.
• Briefing: Compulsory information session on 27 July 2026 at 11:30 in the Banquet Hall, York Street, George. Non-attendance leads to disqualification.
