Overview

The RFQ is for the appointment of a qualified HVAC service provider to supply, deliver and install new air conditioning units, remove and reposition an existing unit, and dispose of an old unit at Luthuli Museum. Bidder suitability requires CIDB level 1ME or higher, HVAC expertise, and relevant registrations/certifications (see details in documents). The scope covers two new units (18,000 BTU cassette and 18,000 BTU mid-wall split) plus removal/disposal of faulty units, with a 12-month post-installation warranty and a 5-year unit warranty.

Requirements

• CIDB contractor grading: 1ME or higher; joint ventures permitted under CIDB rules.
• Proven HVAC experience (supply, installation, maintenance) within last 5 years; accreditation as HVAC technician.
• Registration/proof with SAIRAC/SARACCA/ECASA or equivalent national body.
• Certified wireman’s license; SAQA-recognised HVAC/electrical qualifications; proof of registration (SAQCC).
• Central Supplier Database (CSD) full registration; SARS Tax Pin; BBBEE affidavit/certificate; CIPC documents.
• Public liability insurance; COIDA certificate/good standing.
• SBD 4 (Bidder Declaration) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Form); GCC copies (initial all pages).
• Minimum 3 traceable reference letters (not older than 5 years); CVs of key personnel.
• Compliance with OHSA/environmental safety; refrigerant-handling knowledge; reporting/maintenance capability.

• Mandatory briefing and site inspection: 19 June 2026 at 11:00, Luthuli Museum, 3233 Nokukhanya Luthuli Street. Arrivals after 11:15 not accepted (see LM 2026/0033 - PROVISION...).
• Closing date and time: 24 June 2026 at 11:00. The museum will not accept hand-delivered proposals.
• Submission method: email quotations to scmofficer@luthulimuseum.org.za by the closing time.
• Documents to submit (Returnable Documents): Central Supplier Database full registration, Pricing Schedule, SARS PIN, BBBEE affidavit/certificate, CIPC docs, CIDB registration (1ME+), certified IDs of directors, company profile, at least 3 reference letters, CVs and qualifications of key personnel, HVAC accreditation, proof of SAIRAC/SARACCA/ECASA, wireman’s license, COIDA/Public Liability, SBD 4 & SBD 6.1, GCC (initialled).
