Overview

The procurement is for the production and installation of 13 chief throne sculptures and a centrepiece for the Resistance Liberation and Heritage Route at the University of Limpopo Fig Tree Monument. The scope includes landscaping, electrical installation, throne benches/backrests, and QR-code enabled interpretive plaques, requiring a turnkey, sculpture-focused contractor with concrete/stonework and metalwork capabilities (see UL Fig Tree Bid Document.pdf).

Requirements

• Proven experience in sculpturing or similar concrete/stone works; demonstrable proof (profiles and reference letters).
• Capacity and resources: show two resumes for core personnel and evidence of material resources and equipment.
• Detailed project plan and implementation timeline, including sculpture development, transport, on-site installation, and closeout.
• Environmental integration plan showing cultural heritage themes in landscaping.
• Sketch/3D drawings of the chairs and faceless sculptures.
• Compulsory documents: SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1; Form of Offer; COIDA/FEM/RMA; full CSD report; authority to sign; handwritten BoQ; attendance at compulsory briefing (register used) (see Part T2 – Returnable Schedules; Annex A).
• Insurance: contract works and public liability; H&S compliance.
• CIDB registration appropriate to works; all bidders must be on CSD; JV rules if applicable.
• Minimum threshold: 70 points in Phase 1; 80/20 (or 90/10) price plus preference points (Women, Youth, PWD, Black) as per Annex Annex A. Documentation and evidence required for goals (see Annex A).
