Overview

The appointment is for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a replacement HVAC system at the System Support Suite (SSS) Building, Cape Town International Airport (FACT). The project covers CRAC units, outdoor condensers, ductwork, electrical interfaces, and integrated controls/monitoring (SCADA, cloud, API, Android app). Bidders should have HVAC replacement capability, with the ability to coordinate site safety, mechanical installation, and building management integrations; include qualified personnel per SACPCMP requirements.

Requirements

• Mandatory personnel and qualifications: site manager with refrigeration/mechanical engineering background; SACPCMP-registered CHSA/CHSM; safety officer; qualified rigger; SACPCMP-mechanical engineer; SAQCC refrigeration mechanic; controls engineer PRENG; PPE; permit-to-work system.
• Compliance and permits: adherence to Construction Regulations (2025); construction work permit (30 days pre-start); safety plan and risk management.
• Technical scope: supply, deliver, install and commission three CRAC units and outdoor condensers; flooring modifications; OEM/authorized-install verification; integration with fire detection; new floor grilles, heaters, ducting, and electrical interfacing.
• Controls/instrumentation: sensors (temp, humidity, CO2, VOC, etc.), PLC, IoT gateway, SCADA server, cloud database, API and Android app development.
• Bid structure and documentation: bidder must declare structure (OEM/Distributor/Joint Venture), attach OEM authorization if distributor, and provide Schedule E Compliance; SBD forms; Pricing Schedule in a separate envelope; CSD and SARS tax clearance.
