THE DESIGN, MANUFACTURE, TESTING AND SUPPLY EX-WORKS OF VARIOUS TYPES OF MINIATURE SUBSTATIONS, ACCESSORIES AND TRAINING OVER A 5 (FIVE) YEAR’S PERIOD ON AN “AS AND WHEN REQUIRED” BASIS TO THE DISTRIBUTION DIVISION

Overview

Procurement of the design, manufacture, testing and ex-works supply of various types of miniature substations, accessories and training, for Eskom Distribution, over a five-year period on an “as and when required” basis. Bidders should be engineering/manufacturing firms with electrical equipment manufacturing capability and long‑term supply capacity, able to operate under Eskom’s procurement framework, including ISO 9001‑based Quality Management, OHS and local-content requirements, and to engage under a multi-supplier NEC3/contract framework as applicable.

Requirements

• ISO 9001-based Quality Management System compliance and implementation of Eskom’s Supplier Quality Management specification (QM 58, 240-105658000 Rev 3).
• Eskom OHS and safety compliance, including induction, contractor management and penalties for non‑conformance (Annexure B).
• Compliance with Eskom tender conditions: electronic submission via Eskom E‑tendering, completion of mandatory returnables (SBD forms, Local Content/PPPFA declarations, pricing schedules).
• Ability to design, manufacture, test and supply ex‑works for a five-year framework (minisat sections), with training components as described.
• Environmental and SDL&I requirements (environmental criteria for the contract; B‑BBEE/local-content declarations).
• Willingness to engage under NEC3-based contract data where applicable and meet standard Eskom procurement/SCM rules, including eligibility and anti‑corruption provisions.
