Overview

The felling and removal of hazardous trees in Machadodorp (4), Belfast (8), Emgwenya (4) and Dullstroom (4), totaling 20 trees, is being procured. Bidders should be suitably qualified professionals with experience in tree felling/removal, and hold registrations/certifications for pest control, chainsaw operation, and herbicide application, plus appropriate insurance and fund registrations. Requirements

• Minimum of 1 completed project (attach reference letter and appointment letter/purchase order)
• Public liability insurance of at least R5m (proof)
• Registration as Pest Control Officer (certificate)
• Chainsaw Operator Certificate (certificate)
• Herbicide Applicator Certificate (certificate)
• Registration of workers with the Compensation Fund (certificate)
• Additional: bidders must be trained in safety, climbing, rigging; state employees may not bid

Quotations must remain valid for 90 days; evaluation is 80/20 Preferential Procurement (see document)
• Preference criteria: up to 10 points for enterprise ownership by historically disadvantaged persons (with breakdown for black ownership, women, youth, and people with disabilities) and up to 10 points for EMEs/Start-Ups in local area under local development policies. Verification via full CSD, CIPC address, B-BBEE, and Medical Certificate. (see document)
