Overview

NRF-SAASTA seeks a CIDB grade 1SL (or higher) service provider to remove, supply, deliver and install steel trellis and burglar gate reinforcements at St Johns College Technology and Innovation Hub. Suitable bidders are CIDB Grade 1 SL or higher contractors with metalwork/installation capability, relevant certifications (e.g., welder), and experience in security-related reinforcements.

Requirements

• CIDB registration: Grade 1 SL or higher (proof required).
• Two written references (last 60 months) for similar building/renovation work, with contact details, signed and dated.
• Valid Trade Test Certificate (Welder).
• Attendance at compulsory site briefing (15 September 2026, 11:00, 50 Callaway Street, Mthatha St John’s College).
• Completion and signing of Standard Bidding Documents: SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1 (and Annexes).
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and valid Tax Clearance Certificate.
• SANAS-accredited BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit for scoping of preferential goals.
• Compliance with National Treasury General Conditions of Contract; no delivery before official Purchase Order.

• Briefing session: Compulsory briefing/site visit on 15 September 2026 (11:00) at St John’s College; attendance required (see Annex C) (NRF-SAASTA -65-2026/2027B.pdf).
• Pricing: Provide a full cost breakdown on official letterhead; VAT-inclusive pricing in ZAR; Annex E outlines itemized pricing (RFQ/NRF-SAASTA 65/2026/2027B.pdf).

Notes: No goods/services may be delivered before an official NRF-SAASTA Award Letter/PO. The RFQ uses an 80/20 evaluation for bids up to R1M, with NRF-specific preferences (B-BBEE, ownership, etc.).
